My new favorite hotel in Hanoi

During my trip to Hanoi last month, I found a soon-to-open hotel not far from the hotel I was in. When I learned of the opening promotional rates, I immediately arranged for my August stay.

Like many hotels in the Old Quarter, this building was also narrow and tall. The suite with balcony was cozy but comfortable. It's obvious from the decor and furnishings that the hotel was going for a boutique look with a mix of Vietnamese and Western design elements. I liked it. The soundproofing and water piping systems were obviously done very well. Yes, there is an elevator!

The breakfast was not a buffet like many in Hanoi but the a-la-carte menu was sufficient and tasty for me as I prefer a cook-to-order breakfast. I especially liked the Eggs Benedict.

One of the main reasons I chose this hotel was its proximity to my regular restaurants and cafés along Bat Dan, Bat Su, and the surrounding alleys. I prefer this part of the Old Quarter than the sections near the lake.

Like many hotels I stayed in the past, the staff was the main reason I would return to Hanoian Elite Home. The manager, Vu, and the rest of the crew, including Hue and Ha, were professional and yet personal.

I would certainly recommend this hotel to those looking for an more upscale local hotel which is not too big for that more personal touch at a reasonable rate compared to the big starred hotels.
